A tale of when the sixties met the seventies in the woods of Northwest Montana as a whole new bureaucracy forced the small loggers and cedar "beasts" to take radical steps to make a living.
My book idea came to me several years ago when I was working and playing with the varied characters that I met and spent time with. I originally planned to make a much longer manuscript but as I began to put the story together I saw that the shorter version fit like a glove, one chapter leading into another and although I plan a longer project in the future, I feel good about what I accomplished in Lump Sum.
My book was intended to give information about the economy of Northwest Montana to people from all parts of the country, many who have little idea about the process and machinations of the timber industry.
I would like to say that without the efforts of my daughter, Lireva Wall, none of this material would have seen the light of day.
So if you are looking for something a little different to read try Lump Sum and I think you will be surprised.
